Jackson Law International, a firm of international lawyers, had the privilege of attending the 2023 Annual Congress of the Association of European Attorneys International Lawyers Network (“the AEA”) in Austria. Attending the Congress were Bonnie Jackson, the founding shareholder of Jackson Law International, as well as fellow shareholder and First Vice-President of the AEA, Michael Jackson.
This organization has a strict process for the selection of its membership with the intention of offering to the public legal services that are based upon a uniform quality of standard and unimpeachable ethical standards among its membership. The AEA is recognized as the world’s largest network of international law firms. The AEA was founded in the European Union and, consequently, has strong roots in Europe. However, in time the organization has expanded on a global basis.
This year the meeting took place in Austria. Three hundred and eighteen (318) attorneys were in attendance for this year’s conference, representing eighty-eight (88) countries.

2023 Venue
The AEA 2023 Annual Congress of International Lawyers was held in Vienna, Austria. Vienna – known as “the city of music” due to some of its famous inhabitants such as Mozart and Beethoven – is the second largest German-speaking city in the world. The Vienna area has been continuously inhabited since 500 B.C. when Celts settled the site on the Danube River. After a succession of ruling dynasties, the most famous – the Hapsburg Dynasty – took up residence in Vienna in 1440. The city also served as the capital of the Holy Roman Empire for a millennium – from 800 to 1806. The city was part of the Austro-Hungarian empire and, in modern times, the Republic of Austria. Vienna was ranked 6th in the world for association meetings, making it a logical choice for this year’s AEA Congress.
Through its membership in this organization, Jackson Law International builds upon its professional relationships with international lawyers practicing world-wide in the field of international law. The clients of Jackson Law International can turn to us, knowing that if they require assistance outside of the United States, they can rely upon us for recommendations of attorneys on a world-wise basis.
While the Congress consisted of a number of highly informative presentations by its membership, opportunities existed throughout the Congress to discuss legal issues in various countries and even secure helpful information from fellow attorneys regarding ongoing legal matters that touched on legal systems outside of the United States. The 2024 Congress venue has not yet been determined.
